Zodiac Series
April 6, 202512 Zodiac Signs, 12 Unique Models: A Creative Photography Journey
I Decided to Photograph 12 Models as Their Zodiac Signs as I wanted to focus on a personal project.
Each sign has its own energy, its own way of approaching the world. I decided to take these energies and explore them through photography. The next step was finding the right people to represent each sign. I reached out to a mix of models, some I knew personally, and others who were recommended through my network. What was most important to me wasn’t just finding someone who fit the traditional traits of a zodiac sign, but someone who was willing to explore and interpret their sign creatively.
We had discussions about how they saw their own signs—whether they felt aligned with their astrological traits or if they had a different take on it. Some models identified strongly with their sign, while others were a bit more skeptical. But that’s what made the project exciting: seeing how each person brought their own personal spin to the role.
The visuals were key to this project. I wanted each image to reflect the personality of the sign, but also be visually compelling. For example, Aries needed a backdrop that reflected their fiery energy so we built a bonfire and tried to stick a red palette.
For Pisces, a softer, more ethereal atmosphere felt right so I went with a waterfall backdrop.
I carefully chose locations, colours, and props that would help tell the story of each zodiac sign.
The final collection of portraits not only captured the essence of each zodiac sign but also highlighted the uniqueness of each individual. It was a fascinating experiment in how we can all embody universal traits, yet still remain distinct and complex.
Each model brought something different to the table, and together, they made a cohesive and visually striking series that feels personal, yet universal. Through this zodiac-themed shoot, I was able to combine my love for astrology with my passion for photography, creating a series of images that explore how we all embody traits we may or may not fully understand.
